Meapa Gymnasts Triumph in Regional Grades 2018

The Women’s Artistic Squad at The Meapa Gymnastics Club are celebrating following the annual regional grades competitions.

The 23 gymnasts competed over 2 weekends, where they won a total of 4 regional titles, 13 all around medals & 19 top 6 places. The success of the competitions culminated in The Meapa winning the Disley Trophy Cup for accumulating the most top 6 finishes from all the clubs within the region. This trophy is especially important for the club as it is a memorial trophy for Eileen & George Disley who were the founders of The Meapa Gymnastics Cup.

This competition also acts as a regional qualifier for the young gymnasts to represent their region and club at National Finals that take place in Stoke-on-Trent in May. Congratulations to Summer – Louise Nolan, Isabelle Ings & Chelsea Ervin who will compete at the Elite National Finals and Amelie Attwood, Isabelle Stockwell, Rojda Alkaner-Russell, Amy Robertson & Bailey Brown who will compete in the National Development Finals. The competition attracted the very best gymnasts aged 8 and over from Kent, Sussex & Surrey competing across the four Olympic disciplines of asymmetric bars, balance beam, floor & vault as well as having to compete specific strength & conditioning sets.

The gymnasts upheld The Meapa Gymnastics Clubs reputation to gain tremendous results against some strong competition.
